COMMUNITY OWNED?: The Crichie Inn at Stuartfield which could be placed under community ownership if the idea gains enough support

THE concept of community ownership of the Crichie Inn at Stuartfield has certainly got backing from Stuartfield folk.

More than 100 villagers ventured out on a cold, wet night to attend a public meeting and gave it 100% backing.

Geoff Ewing, on behalf of the steering group, told the Buchanie: “We were delighted with the turnout particularly for such a small village.

“We would really like to thank everyone for their support, especially the 49 volunteers on the night, who offered to help in many ways. Together with the other offers of help from people unable to attend, we can now look forward to working with them to take the project forward. I think this show a wonderful community spirit in Crichie.
