Police appeal for information

Grampian Police are appealing for witnesses following a fire at an address in Peterhead recently.

The fire was discovered at an address in the town’s North Street at about 7.05pm on Tuesday 23 October.

Investigating Officer Detective Constable George Nixon said: “Community Wardens were on a routine patrol when they noticed a fire at a door to a block of flats on North Street.

“The fire was quickly extinguished and some residents were evacuated as a precaution. Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of the incident but the consequences could potentially have been far more serious.
