Friends of Aden enjoy their first year

editorial image

The Friends of Aden Country Park group has nearly completed its first year of running and would like to invite people along to an evening at Aden Park Theatre in Mintlaw, on February 26 at 7.30pm.

The group will be showing all interested parties what it has achieved in the first year of operation and its plans for the future.

The Aden shop, which stocks a wide range of jewellery and crafts as well as a range of books and souvenirs, will also be open to enable guests to see what it has to offer for sale and what it is are trying to achieve along with the Willowbank Centre.

The shop is open from 10.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday and from 10.30am to 4.30pm at weekends.

The group is also promoting what the other sections of the park are doing throughout the year and why it is looking for volunteers to assist in several areas within the park.

The gift shop is operated by the group in partnership with Willowbank day service and the Friends would be very keen to hear from anyone interested in being involved in the shop, either for weekends or summertime afternoon opening.

There are always at least two volunters in the shop which makes the role more enjoyable and folk may wish to volunteer with a companion.

Training is given to ensure volunteers are familiar with all aspects of the shop.

Meanwhile, the Friends would also like to hear from crafters interested in selling their goods through the shop. There is an expectation that they will also take a turn volunteering.

If you are interested in volunteering, contact Victoria Metson on (01888) 544377 or email thefriendsofaden@yahoo.co.uk

Meanwhile, the group will be holding its AGM on March 27 at 7pm, venue to be confirmed.
