Community groups benefit from Shell Small Grants scheme funding

Community groups across Buchan were celebrating last week after receiving funding awards for a wide variety of projects from Buchan Development Partnership’s Shell Small Grants scheme.

The awards were handed out at the Partnership’s Summer Forum recently held at Auchnagatt Village Hall.

Community members came to hear a presentation on the Draft Master Plan for Aberdeen Airport.

Commenting on the event, Dawn Brodie of BDP said: “There was a great buzz about the evening with hard-working community representatives enjoying strawberries and cream and sharing experiences of their projects with each other.

“We also enjoyed some wonderful shortbread which was made by The Old Maud Mart Café for us.

“The Grants Scheme, supported by Shell UK, has made a big difference to many communities in Buchan over the last few years for all sorts of projects from village improvements to supporting youth and club activities.”

The closing date for the next round of awards is Friday, August 17, and more details and application forms can be obtained from the BDP office on (01771) 613584.
