Clan Keith come to Peterhead

Peterhead was visited by members of Clan Keith from America for the first time in 10 years, last week.

The group were welcomed by councillors Anne Allan and Stuart Pratt, Carol Anne Murphy and Lisa Long from Peterhead Pipe Band and Elaine Dixon from Clan Keith Peterhead.

Lieutenant to the Chef Darrell Keith was joined by his wife Edie and other members of the Keith family. The group had being touring round Scotland and made sure to visit Peterhead.

While in Peterhead the Clan gave their blessing for the Peterhead Pipe Band to use the Keith tartan in the uniform.

The group signed the Clan Keith welcome book with Lieutenant Keith saying his nationality was “Scottish American” and that he was “back home”. They were then taken to the Marshall Keith statue from Arbuthnot House. Lieutenant Keith said: “I enjoy my visits here every time I come, I think this must be fourth time in this beautiful place.”
