Church gift to young carers

Support worker for SYCS Aberdeenshire Andy Brown, Superindendant of Peterhead Baptist Church Sunday School Stephen Buchan, Head of the Gift Tree Project Liz Scott and The Hot Spot attendees Ruby and Natalie

Peterhead Baptist Church have donated an “overwhelming” amount to the Scotland Young Carers Service.

Attendees of the Church raised a total of £1261.04 on the morning of Sunday, October 7 as part of the Harvest service.

Superintendent of the Sunday School, Stephen Buchan said: “This is the biggest amount raised so far and it took me by surprise. It just shows how much young carers are thought and cared about”.

Support worker for SYCS Aberdeenshire, Andy Brown said: “From the bottom of our hearts we can’t thank everyone enough. We are overwhelmed with the generosity of the people of Peterhead”.

The money raised has already been earmarked for the continuation and formation of new projects.
