Peterhead energy hub in spotlight

The future development of the North-east as a key player in the continued growth of the energy sector is set to be the topic of a networking event in Aberdeen this week.

The Aberdeen Entrepreneurs event on Thursday at The Doubletree by Hilton, Aberdeen, will focus on the Peterhead Energy Hub - a partnership between Peterhead Port Authority and ASCO.

The evening will see partners of the Peterhead Energy Hub discuss their hopes for the future development of Peterhead as a centre of excellence for the renewable, decommissioning and subsea industries.

Besides the key partners, The Energy Hub works closely with Energetica, RGU, Banff and Buchan College, Enviroco, Dales Engineering, Aquatic, Score and Falck Nutec.

Carolyn Maniukiewicz, of Ideas In Partnership, believes the event will provide an interesting insight into the Energy Hub and its strong links with many businesses and institutions.

She said: “Since the 1960s, Peterhead has been at the forefront of the UK energy industry, and with a recent investment of around £32 million in Peterhead’s quayside, the area looks set to be at forefront of the UK energy industry for some time to come.

“During the evening we will hear from a range of partners who will be playing a key role in the continued development of the area and industry in general.”

The evening will start at 6.30pm for 6.45pm and a light supper will be provided. Tickets are priced at £35, including VAT.

Places at the event can be booked by visiting www.ideasinpartnership.co.uk/networking and downloading an application form, or by contacting 01771 644 163.
