PETERHEAD twins Andrew and Peter Duncan handed over a cheque for £5,100 last week to Kathleen Chalmers and Lorraine Coleman of the town’s Relay for Life committee.

The former skippers’ second book - ‘The Twins Move on with Time and Tide’ - is the sequel to ‘Mair Tales of Twin Deckies’ and has been flying off the shelves since well before Christmas having been sent as far afield as Shetland and the Channel Islands.

Their first book raised just short of the £5,000 mark and the twins were delighted when they smashed their £5k target with their second publication.

And they revealed to the Buchanie on Monday that they are now working on a third instalment.

Peter said: “We’d like to thank the public in general for supporting the cause by buying the book and to all the businesses who have taken it in to sell. The fishing community across the UK has supported us and we’re now looking at a third instalment - although it’s early days yet!”

Andrew said that the pair had been blessed with great memories and it had been great fun recalling their experiences both ashore and afloat.

Peter added: “We’d like to thank Kathleen - she’s been great at organising everyting and has been a fantastic help to us.”

Thanking the twins for their mammoth effort, Lorraine added: “We are delighted with this cheque. It’s a fantastic total and will all go towards the tmoney raised at Relay for Life Peterhead and ultimately Cancer Research UK.”

Meanwhile, a meeting will be held in Buchanhaven Hearts social club, Peterhead, on February 28 at 7.30pm for anyone interested in having a team or helping out at this year’s Relay for Life on July 6 and 7. All are welcome to attend.
