A New Deer based organics recycling firm has scooped a double win in one of Aberdeen’s most high profile business awards.

Keenan Recycling is celebrating after winning the Overall Small Business and Green Award categories in the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce Northern Star Awards which took place at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on Thursday October 11th.

The awards recognised the firm for its excellent practice and for being an inspiration to all small businesses as well as celebrating the firm’s commitment to developing a robust environmental strategy.

The firm, launched in 2001, has grown to become one of the largest facilities of its kind in the world.

Managing Director Grant Keenan said, “We are absolutely overwhelmed to have won two Northern Star awards. It was such an honour for the business to be recognised by the chamber.”

Chief Executive of Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce Robert Collier said, “Keenan Recycling impressed the judges as a successful small business and is making a significant contribution to the environment through its work. The company is a great example of the drive and innovation that makes the North-east a major business region.”
