Dispelling the myths around PAT testing

To dispel the confusion and concern created by recent changes to the requirements for the testing of portable electrical appliances, which affect all businesses, an electrical testing expert is holding information sessions in Peterhead.

Megger will host two free seminars entitled ‘PAT Testing Code of Practice 4th Edition – National Roadshow’ in conjunction with City Electrical Factors (CEF) at the Palace Hotel on Tuesday, March 26.

The seminars, which start at 9am and 12noon, last for approximately one and a half hours, is equally suitable for those who provide portable appliance testing services, those who already use these services, and for those who would like to find out whether they should be using a PAT testing services.

Topics covered in detail by the seminar include changes to routine re-testing requirements, the increased emphasis on risk assessment, the concept of the “duty holder” in relation to PAT testing, the responsibilities of the duty holder and the possible consequences of neglecting these responsibilities.

While the seminar is free to attend, booking is strongly recommended as places are limited. Bookings can be made by visiting the Megger website (http://bit.ly/megger_events) or by calling Megger on 01304 502 236.
