Commercial director for Maritime Developments

Maritime Developments, the back-deck equipment specialist for the energy industry, has underpinned its growth strategy with the appointment of Mike Gaskin as commercial director.

Mr Gaskin previously held a senior management role with international energy engineering and services business and has more than 19 years’ experience in the oil, gas and renewable industries.

He brings a wealth of expertise to Maritime Developments as the Peterhead-based business looks to continue its growth after securing North Sea contracts worth more than £2m in the past three months.

Mr Gaskin said: “I’m delighted to be joining a business that has developed a first-class reputation for the design, manufacture and delivery of back-deck equipment.

“There is tremendous scope for Maritime Developments to grow further both in the UK and internationally. The company has developed excellent partnerships with larger businesses and will continue to do this.

“We are also developing innovative products to enhance operations and safety, in particular in the deployment and retrieval of subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF) for the oil and gas sector and cables for the renewables sector.

“The level of interest shown in our design, engineering capability and services has been extremely encouraging as we look to move forward.”
