THE chairman of Peterhead Football Club is hoping for another bumper turnout as the side prepares for the return of Rangers on Sunday, January 20.

The Blue Toon kickstarted their Third Division campaign in stunning style against the Ibrox side back in August - very narrowly being pipped for all three points.

And according to chairman Rodger Morrison the tie has lost none of its shine or appeal since then - with tremendous demand for tickets for the forthcoming match.

“Once again demand for tickets and our range of hospitality packages including the marquee has been very strong indeed,” he told the Buchanie.

“The marquee will, of course, feature the large screen TV for guests, and we are gearing ourselves up for another great afternoon’s excitement on the 20th.

“I would urge anyone still without a ticket to get down to the club quickly to avoid any disappointment.”

The club has been buoyed by strong victories over both East Stirling and Elgin over the festive period - albeit they suffered a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Montrose on Saturday.

And Morrison is looking for a big crowd to get behind them against the convincing league leaders in a week’s time.

“The season opener really was a magnificent affair for everyone - both the club and the fans - and we hope that will be repeated,” he said.

And reminding supporters of important operational matters, Morrison warned: “Please be aware that their will be no parking at the ground - it is strictly drop-off only - and please come early.

“Although the match kicks off at 12noon we would advise fans to get into the ground as early as possible to ensure we have no delays getting everyone in for kick-off.”

Sponsoring the big match are Enterprise Engineering Services, with match ball sponsor Northern Platforms and marquee sponsor James Jamieson Construction.
