THE new North East Superleague six-a-side season will be kicking off on August 15 at Balmoor Astroturf in Peterhead and there are 16 places available for local teams to take part in the 15-week season.
A number of places have already been filled by teams from last season's league but there are spaces remaining for either old teams or brand new sides to get involved and join in the fun.

The league is the only small-sided competition in the area and has been running successfully since 2007 with HPC finishing the season as champions last term.

Organiser Paul Spacey said: "Last season was fantastic and everyone really enjoyed it but it was obvious that players wanted a break over the summer so we put the league on hold in May.

"After a couple of months break, we are hoping that everyone is raring to go and we want to get as many teams as possible involved from Peterhead, Fraserburgh and the surrounding area.

"Although it is likely the league will be one large Superleague division, if we get enough interest we may split the league into two divisions as it was a few years ago."

Anyone interested in taking part can either contact Paul on 07980 709754 for more information or teams can register online at www.eurosixes.com
