IN THE Buchan Welfare League at the weekend, Ardallie edged out Mintlaw in the odd goal in three with a brace from Steven Sim and John Ross for Mintlaw.
Methlick hit rock bottom Balmoor for seven with Sam French scoring five, and one each coming from Andrew Storey and David Anderson. James Ritchie scored the consolation for Balmoor.
Longside beat New Pitsligo 5-3 in a high scoring game with the wi
ning goals coming from Scott Davidson (2), Michael Murray (2), and Paul Griffin one, and for New Pitsligo David Mathieson, Sandy Maitland and an own goal.
Phd Pensioners and Boddam Thistle shared six goals in a 3-3 draw. Scorers were David Gourley, William McNeil, Mark Duncan and a hat-trick for Andrew Norris.
Meanwhile New Deer go top after a 6-2 home win over Hatton with braces from Gary Taylor and Ian Duncan and one each from Craig Strachan and William Robbie. Paul Smith and Mathew Cowie scored for Hatton.

In the quarter-final of the Norman Smith Trophy Cuminestown entertained Methlick and Town went in front through Sean Smith. Kevin Taylor drew Methlick level from a penalty, but two minutes into the second half Tony Fullwood put Town back in front and then sub Martin Simpson secured the win firing home Town's third to complete a 3-1 win.
In the Norman Smith Cup prelim Longside had a first round home tie against Boddam Thistle and Longside made their way into a quarter-final tie away against Ardallie next week with a comfortable 4-1 win over Boddam Thistle with Kyle Watt with a brace, while Scott McSeveney and Scott Davidson got one each. Michael Cunliffe scored for Boddam Thistle.
In the Norman Smith Cup quarter-final New Deer shared four goals with Mintlaw United with a brace for Ian Duncan for New Deer and for Mintlaw United were John Ross and Martin Smith. New Deer finally progressed to the semi-finals wining 9-8 on penalties.
In the quarter-final of the Ardallie Cup it was all square at the end of 90 minutes between Ardallie and Phd Pensioners with Steven Sim scoring for Ardallie and an own goal by Kevin Brown for the Pensioners. James Cruise was the hero in extra time scoring the only goal to help the Pensioners reach their second semi-final this season.
