Trio charged over alleged abduction

TWO men and a teenage girl have appeared in court following the alleged attack and abduction of a disabled man from Maud.
John McArthur McDonald (23), John Stephen McDonald (19), and Rachael Morrison (16), all of Peterhead, made no plea and were remanded at the town's sheriff court on Thursday.

The trio were accused of abducting Adam Bruce from his John Morrison Crescent home in Maud and assaulting him to his severe injury over the weekend of January 30-31.

They are also accused of theft, theft of a motor vehicle, wilful fireraising and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Mr Bruce was taken to hospital on Sunday, January 31 having been discovered at his home with serious head injuries.

His missing grey Volkswagen Golf was later recovered crashed near Brucklay Estate at New Deer.

Mr Bruce, who has been using a wheelchair since being injured in a motorbike accident around four years ago, was discovered by family members. He returned to his home after receiving treatment.
