A MEGA Kids Club fundraiser, featuring a host of supercars, has raised well over £1,000 according to organisers.

The event, held on Father's Day at the Faith Acres site on the outskirts of town, attracted hundreds of petrolheads both young and old, as the
y viewed some of the most expensive cars available.

A total of 12 cars were on display and attracted steady crowds throughout the afternoon, with a barbecue, mini quad track and alloy wheel repair also provided.

Among the cars gaining attention from visitors were an Aston Martin, a Mustang, a Bentley, a Ferrari 430 and a Lotus Elise.

Organiser, Matthew Morgan told the Buchanie: "It took a lot of hard work and organisation, and a few cars pulled out at the last minute, but overall it was a great day and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The weather remained sunny throughout the afternoon and that helped to draw the crowds out.

"I'd like to thank all the car owners who came along and displayed their precious vehicles, and to everyone who helped make the event so successful. There were a few cars that didn't quite make it on the day but it was still a great show.

"I would especially like to thank our sponsors Imagineering, MB Plant, GG Inflatables, Park Garage Boddam and Zanres for all their contributions.

"It was such a huge success I think we may do it again with more supercars and maybe even superbikes and super trucks…. so watch this space!"

A final total has yet to be announced, but Mr Morgan says well in excess of £1,000 has been raised for Mega Kids Club funds.
