PETERHEAD Lifeboat was called out twice in two days last week.
In the first incident the Misses Robertson of Kintail was launched at 12.30pm on Friday to assist a yacht with two people on board which had a fouled propeller one mile east of Peterhead.

The lifeboat arrived on the scene of the casualty at around 12.30pm and the yacht was taken in tow, and returned to Peterhead Marina at approximately 1.30pm.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, July 24, the lifeboat was called out at 9.50pm to assist a disabled yacth 'Palourde' with no engine power and two persons on board four miles south-east of the port.

The yacht was under tow by another yacht 'Vete Rata' which was having difficulty towing against the prevailing tide. The lifeboat arrived on the scene at approximately 10.15pm and the tow was transferred to the lifeboat.

The 'Vete Rata' then continued its journey to Lossiemouth, and the lifeboat returned to Peterhead Marina with the casualty at approximately 11.30pm.

The lifeboat crew and casualties were entertained on the way back to Peterhead by the spectacular fireworks display for Peterhead Scottish Week.
