Indie-rockers Idlewild will perform at the two-day New Deer event, on the festival's main stage on Friday, August 28.
The band, which has lead singer/songwriter Roddy Woomble at its helm, will be playing one of only a couple of UK festival dates t
his summer at the New Deer Showground, in honour of their strong fan base in the North-east.
Idlewild will be joined on Wizard's main stage by other top class acts including Levellers, The Charlatans, The Beat and The Buzzcocks.
The announcement comes just days after organisers confirmed that a series of Wizard Festival showcase events will take place at a renowned city centre live music venue, The Lemon Tree.
The showcase nights will take place on July 18, Aug 1 and 15, with finalists from hundreds of demos sent to organisers playing across the three live dates.
Organisers have also announced that a group of live music Wizard showcase nights will be staged in Peterhead as part of the town's Scottish Week celebrations.
Billed as a 'platform to perform' for local bands and artists, Wizard showcase events will be held at Mambos and the Lido Marquee at Peterhead on July 23, 24 and 25.
Wizard festival organiser Roy Thain said: "We are delighted to have secured another top Scottish act to give our bill even more appeal and diversity.
"Idlewild are a brilliant Scottish act and a seasoned festival band so Wizard fans are in for a real treat with this addition to the bill."
Commenting on the upcoming Wizard festival showcase events which will form part of Peterhead's Scottish Week Roy said: "We want to give the whole region a chance to showcase its talents in the run up to Wizard.
"Peterhead, New Deer and all the surrounding areas of Aberdeen City and Shire should benefit from Wizard. One of our main objectives has always been to highlight the region as a vibrant, creative place where local bands and artists can flourish."
Wizard attracted more than 4,000 music fans over two days last year with acts performing across three undercover stages.
