Grampian Police in Aberdeenshire are gearing up for the festive season with extra patrols.
Officers will be out in force in the key towns of Peterhead, Fraserburgh, Inverurie and Stonehaven over Christmas and New Year.
The high visibility police patrols, backed by Community Wardens, aim to ensure locals and visitors alike enjoy a safe
and secure festive season.
The extra patrols are supported by money from the Scottish Government's Safer Streets fund and the Aberdeenshire Community Safety Partnership.
Aberdeenshire Chief Inspector Kevin Coyle said: "Aberdeenshire is already recognised as a relatively safe place with further decreases in anti-social behaviour being recorded this year.
"This is a busy time of year for everyone and it's important that Grampian Police works with the public and other organisations to make sure that local people and visitors to the area can have a safe and enjoyable time."
Ch. Insp. Coyle added: "It's important, however, to realise that those out socialising can contribute to this by drinking sensibly and not leaving themselves vulnerable."
Police will also be working with Aberdeenshire Council licensing standards officers and members of the licensed trade to minimise the risk of anti-social behaviour and violence.
Volunteer groups have also pitched in to offer extra services for young people over the festive period.
The drive is part of a force-wide initiative to protect the public and minimise crime over the festivities.
