A PETERHEAD motorist has been left incensed after someone damaged her family car while her husband attended the town's health centre.
Shona Woods (34), a children's supervisor from Brucklay Court, spoke of her anger last week after the car was damaged on January 25 - leaving her with a massive repair bill and no culprit in sight.

Her husband John (40), had parked the car in the
health centre car park at 10.10am, only to find it had a huge dent in the side when he returned.

Mrs Woods told the Buchanie the incident had made her lose faith in people after no-one owned up to the bash, leaving her with at least a couple of hundred pounds worth of repair work to worry about.

She claimed the damage was so bad that it was unlikely the culprit hadn't noticed before fleeing the scene.

Speaking to the Buchanie on Thursday, she said: "You wouldn't mind if it was just a chip but this is more than a little accident. There's no way you could make that much of a dent without noticing and drive away.

"Now we are going to have to worry about the cost, we have our MOT due and then our daughter's birthday coming up. I might have to tell my daughter she'll have to wait to get her presents until after we have paid off the damage, it's really upsetting.

"I know that everyone's in the same boat with money in January, and maybe they were worried about paying the damage, but surely their insurance could have paid. It's a problem we have to sort out straight away as the damage will just get worse if it starts to rain. It's a real financial strain for me and my husband."

She continued: "The worst thing about this whole situation is that it's made me lose faith in people. I'm one of those people who likes to see the best in others. My husband hates going shopping in Aberdeen with me because I'm always moving out the way to let other people past. But then something like this happens and it just makes you lose faith."

Shona is now urging the culprit to come forward, adding: "I'm sure if the person came forward and admitted it we could sort something out."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Grampian Police on 0845 600 5 700 or if you wish to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
