A SPECIAL fundraising gig is being held in Peterhead later this month in order to raise funds for CIC - Community Integrated Care.
The charity event will take place at the town's Palace Hotel on Friday, February 26, at 7pm, and hopes to raise as much cash as possible for the organisation which provides support for people with learning disabilities throughout Aberdeenshire.

Ev
ent organiser, Janice Duncan, explained: "The organisation provides the support needed to enable people to live independent lives in their own homes.

"CIC believes that every person supported should be treated as an individual with a right to dignity, privacy, choice, respect and inner peace. The individuals in its care include not only the people supported but also their family, carers, friends and loved ones.

"The importance of these people to the people supported is recognised and at all times respected."

Janice said CIC was currently trying to raise funds for the people that it supports in the area.

"The group is looking for sponsors in the area to enable it to provide the people it supports with the little extras we all take for granted," she said.

"Anything, no matter how large or small, will be greatly appreciated and make a big difference to the people CIC supports.

"That's why I decided to hold the charity event in a bid to both raise awareness of the charity and raise funds for it at the same time."

Providing entertainment for the evening will be Janice's daughter Holly, who is a singing star in the making and has performed with Banff singer Sandy Thom.

She will be joined on the bill by Two Tone, who are a well-established band who provide a wide-range of music. Singer Graham Podlesny and Starlite Disco complete the impressive line-up.

There will be various raffles throughout the evening, and those going along will be asked to dig deep for the cause.

Tickets, and further information on the gig, are available, priced £7, by emailing Janice at janicexx66@jayhoo.co.uk or calling CIC on (01346) 512528 or (01771) 643907.
