PETERHEAD Scottish Week organisers have launched their search to find this year's Buchan Queen.
The Scottish Week committee is encouraging young ladies in the local area to come forward to be the face of the town's gala week.

An entry form appears in this week's Buchanie and again in next week's issue.

Scottish Week committee member Jacqu
i Bruce says she is confident that there will be a stunning line-up of local girls aged 18 and over at the Waterside Inn on Friday, May 21 when the Buchan Queen and her two Princesses will be chosen.

As in previous contests, Scottish Week organisers are encouraging local businesses to nominate a member of their staff for the contest, but of course nonminations can be made by anyone, including the young women themselves.

Philip Stewart Photographics will arrange for each entrant to have a complimentary portrait sitting and photograph. Entrants should note they will be interviewed by the compere for the evening during the judging process and must attend the event if they are nominated.

The deadline for entries is Friday, April 16 and completed forms must be returned to Jacquie Bruce at 49 Merchant Street, Peterhead.

This year's Scottish Week runs from Saturday, July 17 to Saturday, July 24 so obviously all entrants will need to make themselves available throughout the week.
